Re: Running dedicated server on ARM board
Unfortunately, the Linux executable is a binary file compiled only for x86 and I don't have resources to start maintaining other versions. I don't know if there are emulators that would allow you to run x86 with Rasberry PI but even if there are, I would not count on the performance to be great.

I spent some time debugging that StartPos problem. I think I finally found the reason. In RaceStats.log, StartPos for the first player is actually the index of the player who started in the first pos (so if it is 3, the third player listed in RaceStats.log was the one who started in pos 1). StartPos...

Hello "again"! Quick update about what is going on. I have gone through all kinds of feature requests you have made. Some of them are easy, some are not. The feature list of the game is already very big and anything new doesn't add that much to what's already there. *IF* I manage to publish a new ve...

Hello everyone! I thought it might be appropriate for me to say a few words here after such a long time. First of all, I hope you all understand what people like Dede have done for the game during the last few years when the programmers (read: me) have been just idling. Without him/them the game wou...

http://www.download.com/Turbo-Sliders/3 ... 54741.html
This is the more direct download link which works for me, how about the others?

I try to explain things, it may be a bit complicated. But TS uses SDL for its main graphics library. It can be used with or without OpenGL. In 2.0, SDL version is 1.2.13 which allows two alternative non-OpenGL graphics implementations to be used, windib (called SDL in graphics settings) and DirectDr...

Re: Game runs slow
But why on my P4, using either SDL or DirectDraw the game runs very very slow (unplayable), when in TS 1.08 it was not the case. Are you using the same resolution in 2.0 and 1.0? In 2.0, the default resolution is the same as Windows resolution, in 1.0 the default was 640x480. DirectDraw should be a...

DirectDraw is jerky and unplayable and SDL is simply slow compared to the nice smooth movement of OpenGL, but the menus and the cars look correct while using them. Have you tried DirectDraw with Alpha Blending disabled? That should be as fast as OpenGL. The next thing to try would be SDL with much ...

How does the game 'know' whether my track is one where multiple laps can be driven (connected track) or one with just a start and a finish in different places? Set track type to "Single Lap Track" in editor (this basically adds one line to the trk file and changes track hash) and now the last contr...

Just to let you know, the current rc6 is going to be the final 2.0.0 release. I am still waiting for download.com to update TS before making an "official" release. I don't know what's taking so long but I hope it will happen tomorrow. If there are 1.0.8 servers left, I recommend upgrading to 2.0.0. ...

Yes, as Tijny said, they are probably generated by C++ redistributable installer. Turbo Sliders 2.0 is built with Visual C++ 2008 and the official way to distribute programs made with it is to run redistributable installer. The idea is that instead of every program having the same DLL in their insta...

Re: still having problems
Any suggestions why I can chat & download, but still states disconnected? Two kinds of network packets are used when playing Turbo Sliders: TCP and UDP packets. TCP is used in creating the initial connection and in packets that must not be lost, like user messages, race init requests, race start me...

Hi Ande. I´m having some weird colorproblems with the r6 beta. It runs absolutely smooth and everything, but have a look at this: http://imageshack.dk//viewimage.php?file=/imagesfree/TcZ12996.jpg http://imageshack.dk//viewimage.php?file=/imagesfree/nw911713.jpg Did try the game with the earlier rcs...

Editor always uses SDL graphics and SDL and OpenGL handle transparency in a slightly different way. I am not exactly sure how SDL internally does it but it uses colorkeying, meaning that color 0,0,0 is mapped to be transparent. Could it be that the transparent pixels in your image are not black? I m...

Yes, those are good feature requests, I won't implement it them to 2.0.0 but maybe in the future... That Unknown macro message is rather ugly, too. Since it is only in log.txt when running an automatic server, maybe we have to live with it for now, I won't make a new build for that unless something ...
