game can't handle ties as expected
It might be rare, but the game can't handle if people get over the finishing line at the same time. See screenshot, position 9 and 10. One got 11 points, the other one 10 points. Maybe you might prefer the one with the faster lap, but also this wasn't the case here. Thanks Silva for waiting for me o...

FAQ: reducing Lag
Just a short overview and some ideas, how you could try to reduce Lag: If you press F10 the game shows you the Ping you have. Value should be as low and as constant as possible. You could have a different kind of lag. Either you have regular problems, or the ping is fine most of the time and you'll ...

Re: snow track and correct hash
Thanks to IRC I got the answer: I have to add the 2nd TIL-File or track definition immediately after saving by using a text editor. Seems I did something different before.

snow track and correct hash
I wonder how to get a correct hash for a track that uses snow. For example take the track "de_SnowRally.trk": This track contains snow by adding the tileset 7xx and 9xx into the TRK-File. However if I open and save this track in the track editor (also by using the "-save" commandline), the track edi...

Re: Autoserver script needed
So in the macro.ini i just need to specify commands that will be executed when the server restarts?
Does it restart automatically?

Autoserver script needed
Hi!
I would like to start an autoserver, but I'm not sure how it works if you want to chose 15 random tracks once the cup ended.
Does anyone have a script I could use, that has already good settings for timing, etc.?

How to get new players?
Well, how could one advertise Turbosliders, so that there will come new players? My first thought was an Android port. SDL works with Android, but I guess some work will be needed. But this brought me to the next idea. People nowadays need kind of "Stores" to find things. Why not offering Turbo Slid...

Port to Ouya possible?
Since Turbosliders is available for Linux too...
Do you think it will be possible to port it to the Ouya Game Console?

Ok I compared with 0.86 now and noticed that I also had to deactivate the Lightmap so that tracks look the same. Also I had the Qster-Tiles in the wrong directory. But now it should work. I noticed that there seem to be some timing problems in 0.86. Version 2.0 runs fine on my new computer while 0.8...

Re: 0.86 Retro Trackpack
As all old timers know Turbo Sliders haven't been the same after 1.0 came and especially after 2.0, so the best retro fiiling can be found by playing the game as 0.86b. Sure. But the problems with 0.86b are that it doesn't work with the current serverlist anymore. Well you could use the server-php ...

0.86 Retro Trackpack
I created a track pack with all the old tracks from Turbosliders 0.86 I still had on my computer. With this pack you can add them to a current version of TS and they will look like they looked originally. This pack does not modify your existing tiles so its safe to add it Well maybe you guys current...

Micro Machines mode
Remember the good old game Micro Machines? I didn't see any windows remake yet but since I once saw a track pack that reminded me on micro machines I think Turbosliders does not need many changes for being used the same way. Only thing it needs would be some "follow the leader" camera where players ...

Ok just tell me a track where you think it is well done but still big and I'll check out if I can get it smaller. http://www.turbosliders.com/show_tracks.php?trackname=TSE_ Have fun. Check the quality too, so that you can notice yourself if it drops too much. Ok fine. :) I took a quick look at TSE_...

Re: going off topic
LoL! I actually thought that downloading the game was so easy, but apparently a link in the header of all turbosliders.com pages - Download the Demo - (except the forum&wiki) isn't easy enough! :D Uh, oh. I have to admit I didn't see this link either. The Turbosliders site is sooo overloaded that y...

Im going off topic for a bit, cuz' I would just want to know where can I download the new ts 2.00 something..? Slightly offtopic, but you definately can get it here . Ok, here is one example for making a track big just for nothing: I took TSE_Monaco. The mar.png has 694 KB. I reduced it to 256 colors without having any big difference. Then it had 78 KB. So, 616 KB were wasted . And that was just one file and not the whole track. The other file (monza.png) I could...

Re: Better "normal" servers with standard tiles
And it's quite predictable that players prefer "realistic" F1 instead of some fantasy cars. Not really. If someone wants to have something realistic he will chose a 3D game like trackmania anyway. For me there is no point in trying to get 2D-games as realistic as possible, but since more players no...

Re: Better "normal" servers with standard tiles
Saying that it was bad just because "tracks were too big" is just crazy and dumb, considering that over 600 players played and downloaded all tracks in 2 minutes from the website. It's just crazy and dumb to think that all 600 players downloaded the tracks from the website. And it's even crazier of...

Eh... I wasn't talking about F1 at all, you started with F1. I'm not interested in playing F1, and I really don't know about F1, and I newer said I knew about F1. All I noticed if you connect to a server you often have to download too much. And if standard tiles are not good enough for you maybe you...

Re: Better "normal" servers with standard tiles
But I think that by using default tiles, it would be both very hard and time consuming to make a good shape for F1 track. With a good shape I mean a shape that's pleasure to drive. Ok then maybe you'd suggest Ande to add other default tiles if the normal ones are so bad too drive. BTW: I newer noti...

Re: Better "normal" servers with standard tiles
But I expect that if he notices that files are too big, he will connect to the website to download the trackpack. Not really. People expect a game to be installed and working without needing to figure out which tracks you get from where. Does not having to to with how much brain you have, just it's...

Re: Better "normal" servers with standard tiles
Tracks were downloadable through the gpor website, into a pack. You can't expect everyone to check out if he has to download anything before using some server. The average player pops in, wants to play and if this is not possible because there is another download orgy only then he says goodbye agai...
