Re: Better "normal" servers with standard tiles

Yeah there are many tracks over 2 MBs... Not problem with fast connection but if you have slower connection, u won't get the track in time. Belive me, I have a fast connection. But TS is not sendng the data very quick especially if a race is going on currently. So it's definaltely not a problem wit...

I don't know but something is wrong here. When TS 2.0 is without limits, player numbers should have increased, but maybe the servers with big tracks keep people out or one should make more public that TS 2.0 is now out and unlimited.

Better "normal" servers with standard tiles

What TS 2.0 now needs is some normal servers that only use standard tiles. So that you can download the game and start playing. The problem is that this is not possible anymore since tracks got to huge. Last time we had to give up playing because every track took about 5 minutes to load. Of cource t...

Also I tried 2.0 Rc3 on my Laptop (Genius Webgine, about 1 Mhz, Sis 630 Graphig). The Standard settings were far too slow so I changed it to 800x600, DirectX (I have 9.0c). Then I was not able to restart Turbosliders and had to copy the old INI back. I figured aut that changing to DirectX caused the...

Allow ts through your firewall Software & if you use a router of somekind you need to forward ports 6654 and 6655. If you don't kow how, check out http://portforward.com/ The comuter is directly on the internet, no firewall. Hm. :( But it has 2 virtual network cards although the shown IP was the ri...

Hmm... Strange. It seems to start turbosliders but the server is not reachable from outside. Ping just says ??? and I cannot connect. What's the problem there?

I also tried to switch the firewall off, same problem.

Where can I find them?

Other question: Might it be that the Auto Server Creator (by Jazzy) does not work with 2.x or is there another problem when I try to start the server?

Hmm.. I wished the tiles were less sticky. It would be a really nice improvement for 2.0 to make the behaviour a little bit better so that you somehow bump away from the objects but cannot get stuck to the pixels. That was something I really didn't like in 1.x. In 0.x it was the same but at least ob...

Yes you can get it per HTML, but you aditionally need the player numbers per UDP because they are not correct in the HTML.

Popup cup reminder

Hi! Fine to see that there are full cups now! Dede always tells me when there is something happening, but I think maybe it's useful to create a small "cup reminder". A little program in the task bar that gives you a note when there is a cup going on you like. For example you select "Race, Xbumz" and...

Sure? I'm sure that many players will quit if TS offers only that.
Not so many like those who quit already because of the current settings.

But as I said: When players increase like you said then there can be servers for everyone!

Ok Flexman.. I'm going to kill all servers and leave only one: LAPWANKING 200 LAPS - EASYSLIDER ONLY In this way players won't have choice: they must play there. Let's see if it works. No that doesnt work. It's not attractive for players who just pop in and drive. Fun Tracks, 4 Laps, 20 Races. That...

Well, these stupid discussions always start because there are too few players. I personally do not like most of Jazzys ideas of the game (except his great rallye cars which make big tracks less boring), but on the other side they might not harm the game either. And if there were more players there w...

So the question is, since we cannot bring new players, why are we told wrong by making mods? The problem here is that unless there are more players, there should not be so many possibilities. Just one server per continent should do it. And this server should be with standard tiles and cars to keep ...

Life for Speed is 3d. The market for 2d games is not so big. But I guess you are working on a 3d pack anyway.

well have fun with your 5 player community then

maybe it's not jazzys fault that the publishers rather listen to people with the loudest voice (or the biggest letters...), but it would be better for all if non of you'd see the situation with the current demo as a fact.

why mini racing online having a horrible engine game have a lot of players? the reason was: simplicity of the game with graphics improved Why don't you just play Mini Racing Online then instead trying to make Turbosliders a clone of this? The players who write here that 1.0 is sooo much better have...

I have played 0.86b. v1.0x provides me not one necessary feature over 0.86b. I would be perfectly happy with 0.86b. The players who write here that 1.0 is sooo much better have a) never played the old version with full servers and/or b) confused this game with a racing simulation and therefore are ...

When I play 0.86 tracks at these days graphics feels quite crappy compared to 1.00. At least parts were not so sticky in 0.86. So if you have the new Tiles in 1.x you'd also need a new crash behaviour. BTW: If it's about the graphic: No problem we can use 0.86 with 1.0 tiles and have an unlimited 1...

Re: Some thoughts

Jazzy's night mod just adds a feature to TS, that can be used in some fun tournament. But we don't need new features, we just need new players. Or old players back, whatever... And we also don't need tournaments, we need the state again where you just can pop in and drive against 15 others. But Tur...

Yes that was what brought me back to turbo sliders again. I personally don't like the small tracks and the 5 cars which come with the game. I think that also shows that something is wrong with the marketing. Turbosliders had enough players who enjoyed small tracks, short races and the standard cars...

Most of the people who buy the full version have played the demo for a while. That means they have thought it through and do not buy it spontaneously. That pay by phone does sound interesting, but i doubt it would increase sales much. That was just my idea about paying. Still the most important thi...

Re: Advertising Strategy

Question #2: What do you want changed about the DEMO MODE specifically? The list dede wrote was very good. Especially: - permission to drive at all tracks and servers (if server is full, demo players are kicked or switched as spectators when a full player joins) - no permission to build tracks (& t...
