I dont understand that point system... For example, I played yesterday about 20 races (11wins, couple other podiums & worst result was 7th) and after previous standing update (Last update: 2008-11-20 09:19:45 CET) i have 4 points more than before the update!?! And there was many players when i won those races (8-16 all the time) and 16 players when i were 7th... if i remember it right. Hope you understand my bad english  Anyway, im trying to say that i feel like i have to win 100 races to get 1point.

OH! WRONG TOPIC, SORRY!

General classification
Depending on the final place of each track classification, players earn an amount of points assigned as follows:
10 points to the first classificated
8 points to the second classificated
6 points to the third classificated
5 points to the forth classificated
4 points to the fifth classificated
3 points to the sixth classificated
2 points to the seventh classificated
1 points to the eighth, ninth and tenth classificated
no points to the others.

For example, if you end the classification of Bahrain in third position and fifth at Hockenheim, you will earn 10(=6+4) in the general classification.
Basically the more you drive, the more points you will gain in track-ranking, the better you will be ranked in the general standings.
Not the best ranking system indeed, but at least average players have a chance to win by driving much more than top drivers.

Please explain the point system, I don't get it.

According to log converter I should have got 35 bonus points yesterday (I only raced in GPOR server). Then why I've lost few points instead?

Yesterday I was driving a few races with about 10 players and finished every race on 3th-5th position. What do I got, 0 bonus points, sweet :x

Wooo! Dumb people all the way! Now I really feel veryyyy clever!! :D
I bet even MaunoKasa might have understood this.
Race Classification
Each race give points with a "bonus/malus" logic calculated as follows:
after the race, the first classificated gets an amount of points equal to the players divided by two (rounded down). The others get 1 pont less according to its position until the last classificated, who will earn a negative amount of points equal to the points earned by the first classificated

E.g.:
with 6 players
1º +3
2º +2
3º +1
4º -1
5º -2
6º -3

with 5 players
1º +2
2º +1
3º 0
4º -1
5º -2

General classification
Depending on the final place of each track classification, players earn an amount of points assigned as follows:
10 points to the first classificated
8 points to the second classificated
6 points to the third classificated
5 points to the forth classificated
4 points to the fifth classificated
3 points to the sixth classificated
2 points to the seventh classificated
1 points to the eighth, ninth and tenth classificated
no points to the others.

For example, if you end the classification of Bahrain in third position and fifth at Hockenheim, you will earn 10(=6+4) in the general classification.
Yeah, it's hard to understand if you read ONLY the first part, but it's quite clear to me since I read the whole text.

Bonus points are assigned in track standings for each race (if you arrive first in TSB_Imola with 6 players, +3 points are given to you in TSB_Imola rank).
Basing on track rank position, points are assigned for the general ranking (10 8...). It's quite clear that there is a 160 points limit in general standings (if you are 1st in all 16 tracks = 16*10 = 160), but there is no limit in track standings.

That text doesn't say where are the bonus/malus points added.

I thought the general classification is separated from the race classification, and that the general classification points would be assigned after the cup is over.

So if one would have an average of 1.5 bonus points a race, done 100 races, and got second place in every track classification, (s)he would get 1.5*100+16*8 = 278 points in final standings.

Well "Race classification" is supposed to be "Single track ranking". Not properly translated :P

How would it sound, if we would have possibility to use ghost, if certain requirements fulfill? I played yesterday couple races and at one point there were almost 20 players. Skill differences between players were... well huge. It was actually more like "slalom" than racing. So if most players would want to use ghost, is it ok to use it? It partially removes the excitement of racing, but I think it's still better than it was yesterday. Maybe little easier to learn car and tracks as well?

I prefer non-ghost... but not bad idea anyway. It was quite chaotic at some moments but it was also pretty fun. Ghost mode also increases gaps between top-players and newbies. I rather have some fun slalom (even as much I hate blockers) instead of boring "wank-racing".

the web converter don't works as this season points system: there isn't the track-standings division...

in the season home there is the best explanation, i can't say it better! :)

Little announcement for players and administrators.

In order to have more players at default cars tournaments such as "International Racing Tournament", "International Hot Laps Cup", "TurboSliders.com Newcomers Cup", the server might be stopped (playerlimit=1, manual mode) while those cups are running.
So, if you got admin powers, don't reset default settings when server is set like that.

Thankies

EDIT:
Forgot to say that stummihouse agreed with this, and server won't be stopped if it's not needed or appropriate (e.g. if 10 players are playing F1 and 15 players already connected at IRT server, there wouldn't be enough spots, so server will stay).

We have some old "friends" back to TS, [COL]SirWhite and [COL]SirBlack. Those who know them probably aren't surprised that they have been doing some backward/rough driving.

So if possible I would suggest permanent ban for them, today they had these IPs:

[COL]SirWhite 88.193.73.228
[COL]SirBlack 84.250.168.8

They are now banned at GPOR server and Community Servers. Please report any new IP's.
