TurboSliders.com F1 League - Schedule & Subscriptions

PostSun Aug 30, 2009 4:06 pm

Image
TurboSliders.com presents the first official F1 League. Eight races in two months to establish who is the best F1 driver.

General info
Car: TSE-F1beta
Tracks: TSE style, unreleased (to be downloaded from the server)
Rules: fairplay racing; priority subscribed players to join the race (order of subscription)
Fuel: Fuel on. Amount: 900sec of accel. Fill: 20 sec. Idle cons.: 75.0 % Full slowdown: 15.0 %
CanChangeStartFuel: ON (startfuel can be set for each session - race startfuel must be set to the value communicated by admin)

Race format
Each race includes two practice sessions and a qualify session. This is a short explanation of how it will work:

Practice 1&2
These are the sessions where people can try the track for the first time. It is possible to test fuel strategies and learn best lines. It's possible to set startfuel freely and make pit stops. Each session lasts 5 minutes.

Qualifications
It will be possible to drive up to a fixed number of laps (based on track length). Fuel remaining after last completed lap will be startfuel for the race. If a driver pits, the amount of fuel he added will be subtracted from the final amount of fuel (minimum default amount of fuel for race is 7%).
Players can decide to complete only few laps in order to save fuel for the race.

Race
Race will last about 25 minutes (number of laps is variable, depending on track length). Startfuel must be the one remaining after last completed lap in qualifications, except for the ones who didn't qualify (they are allowed to set a custom fuel level).

Championship Standings

Schedule
Races will be held in the following days:

- Eisenstadt GP - Sunday 20 September 2009 @ 21:00 CET
- Alcerring GP - Sunday 27 September 2009 @ 21:00 CET
- Barenfold GP - Sunday 4 October 2009 @ 21:00 CET
- Calside GP - Sunday 11 October 2009 @ 21:00 CET
- Mordecai GP - Sunday 18 October 2009 @ 21:00 CET
- Sunday 25 October 2009 @ 21:00 CET
- Sunday 1 November 2009 @ 21:00 CET
- Sunday 8 November 2009 @ 21:00 CET

If you are unsure about the time posted above, check out what time it is now.

Sliding Entry List:
The main idea is to give guaranteed spots to active players rather than assigning them to those who signed up first.
Top 20 players have guaranteed spot in next race, other players can jump in before qualifications (or when admin tells them) and spectate before of that.
Players who joined less than half of the races (0 out of 2, 1 out of 3, 2 out of 5...) will lose their spots if they are in top20. Those who are out of top20 can show up as spectators before qualify. In case server is full, their presence will be counted anyway.
Spots are assigned basing on joined races and eventually signup order.

This is the entry list for next race:

No. That's not an option. We pick a day and that'll be it. Anyway, I hope to see more subscriptions/posts here. I'm not starting a league with 10 subscribed players. So post if you are interested, and let us know which day is best for you.

Sign me up. All times should be okay - only problem might be with Monday 21 CET (although right now it suits well, Estonia will be switching times again sometime in October I think and then I don't know how it'll work exactly). But yeah, at the moment, all times are okay. Personal preference would go to a late Sunday time, though.

That's why I'm using CET reference instead of GMT. This way summer time/winter time won't matter with the cup schedule (if we set it for 19:00 GMT now - which is 21:00 CET, with winter time it'll be 20:00 GMT but still 21:00 CET).

Monday seems to be a bad day for many, so probably Sunday is going to be the day. But still waiting for more subscriptions and feedback.

Let's do the other way. You sign up only when you are 100% sure of joining. This is better in order to keep the league active.

Hahaha wooooooooo! Hey man! :)

I'm in for sure.

I also have a track I was working on some time ago, I could finish it, but would it even be used in the cup? and if so, can I race that round?

Oh and, the tracks will be the same kind as the GPOR open cup? In terms of size, shape, style ect..... So I can practice a bit.

Nice, I'm looking forward to this, good thing all I do on Sundays is sit in my ass. :)

At the moment we have over 15 unreleased tracks to be used in this cup. Naturally this means that we will pick only the best ones out of those. If you want, you can send your track and we'll consider it. The only requirement is that track isn't published/released to anybody and that you don't train on it.

Tracks are made in TSE style, so you can practise in the current GPOR server in order to get the touch back. I've seen some previews and they look very challenging and better than the ones we have now.

hmmm maybe you could show us a little of the new expectation by posting only the paint file,
but there is 1 way that might lead to confusion and unfairness

If I get an image of a track, I can easily make that into a playable track to practice on. Meaning, so can everyone.
