I think it should be something like

1st: 15 points
2nd: 12 points
3rd: 10 points
4th: 8 points
5th: 6 points
6th: 5 points
7th: 4 points
8th: 3 points
9th: 2 points
10th: 1 point

10 people getting points is enough, I guess. There is a 3 points gap between 1st-2nd and a 2 points gap between the 2nd-3rd, 3rd-4th and 4th-5th. This serves as a stimulus to make that final effort to be with the top players.

Some people might be discouraged for not getting any points. In this case, I'd suggest using the same point system of F1 Season, half for each race. Otherwise, in the end of the season you will have to deal with 3 digits numbers, which might be a pain. The problem with this solution is that you'd have to deal with decimals, which can be an even bigger pain.

Lanz his idea is keep people close togheter in the cup only a 3 points difference for 1-2 and 2 points difference for 2-3 should be sufficient in my idea.
Dont beg for things do it yourself or else you wont get anything!!

Better 3 digit numbers then decimals :D

I mean, in skiing you have 3 and 4 digit numbers every season. ;)

if we give points only to ten people we have a problem, since ballast settings are based on championship standings! to much people without points! people waiting to get last, would make no sense to become 11th after 1 race day!
you would have 0 or only a few points but a quiet heavy car for nothing!

Reirom wants to take part on this cup.

Anyway, you're right Lanz. Use the same points system of F1 Season then for each race, so you won't need decimals. Excel can do all the work anyway. If any help is needed with Excel, let me know.

EDIT:

I don't know if I'm allowed or not to post things for him. If I'm not, I'll be more than happy to delete it. Just let me know. Anyway, here's his appeal:

I'm just a tad confused...

Let me get this straight, the first "Race" (not a test), is Sunday, January 9th?

Are there any test races before that?
