Lanz, I uploaded the tracks, but I don't know what else to do with sources.

sounds good to me! hopefully we get up to 16 players but that's highly unlikely! i think it will probs look like this!Mike Nike wrote:slight adjustment suggestion for the drawings:

from the organizing point of view it would be totes better to have 16 players, so guys make sure to get some extra people in! because if we get 10 people it's best to skip the 2 slowest out! if we get 12 we just can't just skip 4 dudes, that's unfair! still i'm not sure how to handle them in case we got 12! if we get 14 the 2 fastest ones get a free ticket for the next round! so it's best to have 16! so make some rumors for it! thx
thx! we don't need more! 16 laps ghost quali all off! and then just 5 laps for each and every heat! just make sure enough races are that we don't have to restart the server during it! thxWhiplash wrote:Lanz, I uploaded the tracks, but I don't know what else to do with sources.
Re: PTM 2 - Infos - Schedule - Subscriptions
If you have more than 8 you sure can make an extra K.O. qualify round with the slowest ones? Like if there's 10 people then there would be qualify round (7 vs. 10 and 8 vs. 9) before the "real" drawings. With 12 (5 vs. 12, 6-11, 7-10,8-9). It would take extra time but still last less than with 16 players and it can be even best of one if necessary (better seeded can choose startposition). I mean it sucks if someone doesn't get to drive even one K.O. fight (that could easily end up being meLanz wrote: from the organizing point of view it would be totes better to have 16 players, so guys make sure to get some extra people in! because if we get 10 people it's best to skip the 2 slowest out! if we get 12 we just can't just skip 4 dudes, that's unfair! still i'm not sure how to handle them in case we got 12! if we get 14 the 2 fastest ones get a free ticket for the next round! so it's best to have 16! so make some rumors for it! thx

if 10 people join we could do that! wouldn't be a big deal!
if we are 12 we drive 6 duels, so 6 + 2 Lucky Losers advance to the next round!
Re: PTM 2 - Infos - Schedule - Subscriptions
That would be cool.
Btw, I hope no one cheats by turning the car around after control point 6 and cruise to the lap record without driving the big loop.

hehe! that's not going to happen! if you don't drive the track as you should you loose the heat anyway!power79 wrote:That would be cool.

These are the sources to be used:
/source custom.play.PTM.SE.qualify
/source custom.play.PTM.SE.race
You should test it just to be sure I didn't fucked up something again.

Re: PTM 2 - Infos - Schedule - Subscriptions
geez, 1st 5 lap race after the cup: 1.50.145.
luckily i won with the good performing palo, but the pressure effect in cup probably made me do more mistakes than any other influence.
the 10 5-lap-races practice before the cup:
1:51.488
1:50.091
1:50.514
1:50.340
1:50.098
1:50.798
1:50.685
1:51.725
1:50.921
1:50.241
and in the cup.. (kinda paranoid safe driving, with a little server-warpyness and a little brain-warpyness)
1:51.331
1:51.155
1:51.187
1:51.268
1:51.091
1:51.196
1:51.168 (aborted) [24.029 22.141 21.798 21.524 21.676, last 2 laps kinda trying to catch palo, who disconnected]
1:51.049
1:50.763
so, quite constant kinda..
knowing from practice, that 1 mistake can cost 1.7 sec +-, the paranoia didnt seem to be there for no reason..
edit:
cup ended ~ 22:17, so...2 hours 17 minutes for top2 (or top4) time consumption, with a lot of 2-0 wins, we might still consider something up to 2:30ish for probable upcoming similar events with same amount of participants.

Re: PTM 2 - Infos - Schedule - Subscriptions
Yes. Local is different. Even I drove 1:51.1 times when i practiced locally.
OMG. I checked my race recording and almost all warping disappeared from that as soon as I turned my HUD off. FFFFFF if I would have known this I could have raced normally against Whip. But I am used to have that HUD on and couldn't guess that it would cause that (except when Mike told me about that , but it was too late then). I know I would have beated at least Reirom's time, but now I think I didn't even get any Cup points. Well, I guess there's always next year. Stupid, stupid me.

once again i feel like the show event was quiet a success! it took a bit to long for my taste but with only 1 server i expected nothing else! was a bit stressful for me but since it turned out pretty good it's not a big deal! about my performance i can't say im not pleased with it even though i didn't reached the semi finals! i expected a tight battle with palo and it turned out that way! he was just a bit faster! thx to all who joined!

hey guys, first of all Happy Easter to all of you!
today no race is scheduled, instead i give you guys a quick overlook of what's left to finish the 2nd Puschtras Touring Masters! actually i wanted to make a new track for this season but due to spare free time i was not able to deliver it! unless some easter miracle is going to happen!
i had in my mind to create the new moscow raceway, again the sprint version, don't know why the DTM always races the short version of the tracks! so instead of moscow we once again race at Brands-Hatch, the long version ofc!
The Championship is far from decided and i think it will be open till the last lap at the old and legendary Nürburgring! mathematically 5 guys can still win it, but realistically it's me Mike and Stylus who will sort it out! but you never know what's going to happen as it was shown in Zandvoort where i disconnected and ended up getting 0 points! in that race me and mike soon ran away from the rest of the field and due to the disconnection we both got robbed from a fight for the win! mike also had connection problems in that race but still was able to win it! but to be fair i also have to mention that mike didn't participated in the first 2 races, pretty sad bacause all the other pro's didn't showed up either! so two 2nd places in the upcoming races is enough for me to secure the title! but playing it safe is never the best solution! with mike wanking the hell out of the last 2 tracks
it's going to be thought to win them but i can promise you guys ill try my best! but i also don't count out Stylus, he won in Oschersleben showing that also he can be a big threat! so i'm looking forward to the next week! i'm ready to sort it out on the track! may the best win! cya

I updated the software. Now you should be able to open those videos. I couldn't find the bug that causes some converted laps(last lap?) to fail but they seem to work if you make a two lap conversion (lap you want + one before that). You can then edit/cut the result inside TS replay.Lanz wrote:ok thx!power79 wrote:For some reason those tsr files are not compressed which is what my tool expects when it reads it. Re: PTM 2 - Infos - Schedule - Subscriptions
some local nonfuel made me only get a 34.815, next to quite a few low .8x's. kinda lost the flow then and started my first race sim today. 20.16.9 2 stopper, then 20.14.5ish 1 stopper, both with few mistakes. another try made me get 20.11.3 2 stopper (0 mistakes) and a 20.12.9 with 2 bigger mistakes (2.0sec total) + 2 very little (0.5ish). so, 1 stopper felt 0.4-0.9s faster.
warmup was quite good, q1 was solid and q2 was even better. way better than expected (0.299 to 2nd, unfortunately lanz
)
long time in race i thought stylus would get 2nd, but then he made an unexpected pitstop in lap 12 or so :S...2-3 laps later than normal and 1 lap earlier than my 1 stop strategy. that maybe cost him the 2nd place, not sure though.
lanz said, his 2nd stint was very good, so i kinda liked to compare it to my local 2 stopper..

so, ~1.25sec i was faster local.
considering i was driving around 0.12sec+ slower per lap in race compared to local, it's kinda similar fast.
in 3rd stint, my head already thought about next race and the chance i might disconnect still, during the current race.
that made me struggling a bit, including a mistake in a spot, i usually dont mess up.
also i might have been hold up a bit by popowitch.
with my big lead i didnt mind him ignoring the very light blue flag. his car was way faster, but he made mistakes here and there.
it actually created a nice unexpected little fight after driving kinda alone most of the race.
all in all, quite well prepared and luckily successful, accordingly. and also no problems with the eyes in race (had few during race sims, even my sleep rithm was nicely adjusted this time).
next track, ~25sec/lap might be a traffic desaster^^ and i can imagine lanz will practice quite a bit

so, ~1.25sec i was faster local.
considering i was driving around 0.12sec+ slower per lap in race compared to local, it's kinda similar fast.
in 3rd stint, my head already thought about next race and the chance i might disconnect still, during the current race.
that made me struggling a bit, including a mistake in a spot, i usually dont mess up.
also i might have been hold up a bit by popowitch.
with my big lead i didnt mind him ignoring the very light blue flag. his car was way faster, but he made mistakes here and there.
it actually created a nice unexpected little fight after driving kinda alone most of the race.
all in all, quite well prepared and luckily successful, accordingly. and also no problems with the eyes in race (had few during race sims, even my sleep rithm was nicely adjusted this time).
next track, ~25sec/lap might be a traffic desaster^^ and i can imagine lanz will practice quite a bit

hah, i wish it would be a ghost race

Re: PTM 2 - Infos - Schedule - Subscriptions
I like this track and cause of that I only made 1 race of 20 laps to remember again the turning points.
Got a nice Q1 and a bad Q2, still was enough to get 3rd place on the grid.
Race started and I lost right away a place but recovered it after 1 lap or so. As I dont really like to make pit stops (I always have the feeling I loose a lot of time compared with the others) I went for 1 stop. I think it was a mistake cause I was loosing a lot of time per lap. Had some fights with Palo, and I didnt knew exactly how to react on some incidents. He hitted me a bit on my back which made me go wide and he took the chance of passing me and after I made more or less the same thing, maybe a bit more aggressive, but I decided not to give place back because of previous situation.
Was racing a big part of the race in 2nd place but I knew I wasnt going to hold it due to my tactics. In the end I ended up with a 4th place. Not bad but, not really satisfying for me.
See you next week guys. If anyone cares to analyse some of the already mentioned incidents would be great. Cant be precise on the laps but I think it was before lap 10.
Man, we need the new version soon. When is this going to happen?? Seems very far away!
I noticed me thinking on it while on the long straight cause I could have used a bit of draft!!

always fun to read mike's analysations!
to be honest, i think that today i didn't had the chance to win it, even without those stupit mistakes that i made in the 2nd lap! after i got passed by half of the field i immediately knew that the best i can reach today is the 2nd place! luckily i got it in the end! but as i said i knew that mike would be super prepared today because he always is!
i didn't made a race sim or something else, i open the server a bit earlier and make some laps there! no real preparation! so don't expect me to be super prepared for next week either!

Fight of the last race - me vs popobitch!
Btw, videos are uploaded (first post).
Last time I sent mail to Ande was about a week ago (after a month of silence). I'm sure he's very busy these days. He's probably not even at home. To finish the game I'm predicting he'll need about 10-15 working days. But he just can't catch them.
So, all we can do is to be patient.

Re: PTM 2 - Infos - Schedule - Subscriptions
I think i had a good race with not too many mistakes but like Mike said, i don't know the pit strategy.
I just pit on 1/3 of race and 2/3 and thats it

Re: PTM 2 - Infos - Schedule - Subscriptions
Yeah, Stylus had pretty standard 11-11-11 stints. Maybe more optimal would be like 10-11-12/9-11-13 as first stint takes longest due the fuel, but I doubt you can save 5 secs with that.
I started awfully as usual and then at lap 4 my controller went crazy for a while and I lost around 15s (based on my laptime). After that I had to change to 3-stop strategy and I drove quite badly rest of the race as I didn't have much motivation left. I think I could have fought with Popo and maybe even Whip if everything had gone smoothly.

Somebody should explain me those strategy's and tell why they are faster cuz i don't get that part of racing :Opower79 wrote:Yeah, Stylus had pretty standard 11-11-11 stints. Well, Mike is more of an expert, but my understanding is that because of fuel amount your first stint has slower laptimes so tires get more worn if you go for same lap amounts as other stints. Also most of the collisions(damage) happens at the first laps so its better to pit earlier for that reason too. Pitting early also gives you opportunity to pass someone who goes later, but that is another topic I guess. Tracks are of course different so sometimes 1 stop is the best way, and maybe sometimes even 3 stops. Doing race sims are pretty much only way to know for sure.
But I'm sure Mike will give you the correct explanation.
