Fastest Lap: a new racing game

This game will not compete with Turbosliders. :P
But lovers of lap record hunting might like it.

It's in development, the graphics are sketchy, for now, but the online ranking is already running. :D
When playing, you see the ghost of the "next player to overcome"

Do not need to download anything, it runs on the web-browser.
You must be using a social network to save the laptimes, but you can set a nickname.

The developer is my friend and colleague, as well as old TS player: Saiborg.

Ok, I set a few benchmarks on the speedest tracks. Btw, I would like to race against my own ghost if I have the fastest lap. :)

These are things that I'd like to see added/changed:
- Option to turn the ghost off totally.
- Custom controls.
- Custom zoom.
- Ranking System could be more complex.
- Braking should be more needed. Now you don't have to use it at all.
- Cars handling are in-general pretty bad (weird). Formula reminds me too much to TSB-F2 car of TS (aka Worst car in TS's history).
- Registering trough the social networks isn't something that I liked.
-I'd like to see the game to be standalone (non-browser). It's irritating to play it with such a low fps.


These are thinks that I liked:
- Fast registering.
- Ranking system.
- Car behavior when hitting the obstacles is nice. That's actually how I would like it to be in TS. It's good to see that car can just scratch it (not only bump it and stuck in it) and continue driving.
- And, it's good that car have reversed controls when going reverse. :)

Another thing is that the restart button is pretty useless on some tracks, because there is no way to get good entry speed from the start point without backing up.

yea the custom controls thing would be nice i havent registered a time for it because of that you need the arrow keys and my (right arrow key) is broken missing i just have plastic thingy that i can press and half of the time it doesnt respond fastest lap i got currently this way is a 18.7

lot of what whip said, i agree with.
anyway, the warps killed me. the only somewhat driveable track was the 1st, where i was about to head a 17.1ish lap, it seemed like.
and the bones of my right hand are hurt so much after just 1-2 dirt track laps, it's frustrating.
taking away the unlucky steering and the nervy warps, i like the idea and solution. in the 17sec track it was nice to beat driver by driver, including good performing xzeal :D

Yeah Mike, I've been playing for 24 hours straight since last evening!

I have also had pretty bad performance issues when I used Chrome, oddly it was much smoother in Firefox. Odd because Chrome is known to have the faster JavaScript engine. One thing I noticed that I very much disliked is that when a warp occurred, the clock continued in real time but the car stalled, meaning you inevitably lose time even if you stay on the right line. That's not how it's supposed to work, it makes me think that how fast you can go depends on frame rate...

thank you all for the help! here are some changes made thanks to your contribute:

* the first in the standings runs against his ghost
* four decimals on the final laptime
* controls selection
* now the time is stopped when the game is paused :P
* fixed the ratio between time and framerate

+ 2 new tracks
