This video demonstrates a Turbo Sliders clone that I wrote. Writing a game like this has been my pet project for as long as I can remember, and I've started over from scratch at least 8 times in just as many years, and every time my programming practices improved. This particular version is still in its infancy, with no GUI to speak of and all of the game parameters completely hardcoded, but it can load pretty much any Turbo Sliders track you throw at it, and the handling mechanics are very powerful and versatile.

Please don't ask me for a playable version, because the truth is that it's just not ready, and I don't know if I am allowed to distribute any of TS' content that my game relies on.

So, why post this you ask? Because I felt like it, that's why.

There is probably no top-down game on Earth that I didn't see or play, and believe me, yours is full of potential. Sure, it's a TS alike, but at least you've chosen the right base. So, keep it up and once we'll all be proud of you. :wink:

Nice :)
Thx for sharing.
And thx for sharing the "I felt like it"-mood.

Before this post my mood to code was like...

pMoodToCodeToday = 0.02

and after....

readTijnysPost()
pMoodToCodeToday *= 10

but in the end it's gonna be:...

nextSummerDay()
pMoodToCodeToday = 0.02

Nice one! I'd always wanted to make a TS clone too but more of a fusion between top down games I usually play in order to make up its weaknesses.

Any particular program you use to make this thing?

Looking forward for the next progress!

Thanks for the positive feedback, this might give me more motivation for the project and an incentive to post more videos as I make more stuff.

As for what kind of tools I use, not a whole lot -- I just write C++ code in Visual Studio 2015.

So, what's the release date? I'm expecting this mode to be implemented too:
