Yet another year is finished, so it's time to vote for TurboSliders Awards 2008!

In previous two editions we had several categories being assigned to the same players, basing on statistics and cup results prolly. This time I decided to introduce new categories (yes, I've been checking old suggestions

) and to change the way awards will be assigned. Awards results aren't supposed to completely match with cup results anymore, but they are based on a democratic vote.

Right. We had quite many XBumpZ tracks in 2008, thanks to the trackmaking competition by xzeal. But all tracks were voted in that competition already, so that award goes to the competition winner.

Racing and fun tracks had own competitions too, but we had several tracks that didn't join competitions.

Fun = rough racing tracks or similar
Racing = racing with default cars

F1 tracks are excluded also (they aren't many anyway).

I haven't followed the scene that much lately, but are these votes based on official cups only or on normal cups too?
Because... seeing serialman as "Best AntiSlider Rough Racer " i miss my name on the list or at least chibinho ;D. Anyway, Matti is always good and serial definately improved (won few cups on his server vs me). Keppana got pretty strong too (often though server host advantage maybe), but Manuakasa always pwns everyone in his server rough cups, while i maximal win the 2nd cup.

...id prefer playing the old classic XB, anyway..next to good newcomer Pix, there was some guy who was always strong in that one...dont remember the correct nick - neither matti or dede (although both are strong)

6. Best Racing Trackmaker
...dede did some good work this year, maybe janne or who it was too, but dede best i guess

7. Best Fun Trackmaker
...no idea yet, gotta check

8. Most Active Player
...how should i know, but my bet goes something like 1. dede 2. Emanuel ...gotta check too, dat guy ive seen often...but brasilians and portuguese guys are pretty active, maybe more than the few punaball-only players

9. Gentleman of the Year
...have taken part in too less cups i guess. I pretty much liked the newcomers behaviours of Pablinho and Matic though..
janne is cool, but Matti and Rattlehead are always gentle. My vote would go to Matti, the silent highskiller

probably that could be the series of the combined cups hosted by dede...
gpor.it did some nice work too though, but id say 3rd place behind IRT.
unofficial cups there have been a lot funny ones, in brasilian servers, portuguese and the ones hosted by Emanuel and dede...probably the brasilians were the funniest, but with maybe too less care compared to european hosters

2. Best Racing Track
i liked one f1 track by dede & janne (or some other guy), gotta check...

3. Best Fun Track
...no idea atm.

4. Best Team/Clan
i've read something about iR and [+]. The results might forbid to vote for anything but [+] i guess. On the other hand, there is some brasilian team, i probably would like to care about too.. - but i fear these awards are for TSE only (?)

They are based on everything: official cups, everyday playing, own preferences. This way everybody can vote what they really think: no need to prize players for winning cups and tournaments (they already got in the HoF by winning those).

Just like said before, it's own preference. He was one of the hardest players to defeat (maybe only on his own server), due to his good bump-prevention (or lame..). Each player can actually have a different opinion.

F1 tracks don't match any category. Racing = default cars; Fun = rough&fun tracks.

Yeah that's correct. There may be brazilians nominated in these awards but only for activity in european servers. If they are interested, they can have their own awards based on TSB activity (I would still add them as TS.com Official Awards). But probably nobody of them is reading here and they won't even care about it. I tried many times to invite them here, to use this website as they official website too, but they prefer to stay alone. Whatever

Based on organized cup results. If I could've put 6 players, I would've added Etana. But maybe he isn't (unfortunately) that active in organized cups. Same thing with Matti. Top players without a doubt tho.

Tijny&dede handle all the areas of pb superb well. First I had only them on the list. I excluded Storm because I though he lack some adapting to different mates and he would be superb with Matti and "only" super otherwise. But yesterday he was superb even with me, so he deserves the spot too

I'm a fan of racing cups, so IRT and JJT are my favorites. IHLC's were popular too, but the GPOR Open Season really cracked the traditional amount of players taking part with huge amount of players playing 24/7 on the server. Good job!

Thanks for your nominees. I selected the final nominees for about all categories (I temporarily removed tracks cateogries, since there are too many good tracks - maybe I'll try some different technique later).
Final nominees are naturally selected basing on votes posted here at the forum: there isn't exactly a "minimum number of votes" to be nominated in categories, but I picked usually about 6 nominees per category. Where there are more than 6 nominees, it means that we had ex-aequo. Where there are less than 6 nominees, we didn't have enough nominees or other nominees had really few votes compared to best ones.
Now we can select our favourite player for each category (from the given list). Nominated players can vote, but they can't vote for themselves (in case they think they are the best in a certain category, they can skip that vote).
