Full Contact starting order

PostSat Oct 08, 2011 12:24 am

Lately there has been a little discussion about the starting order in the Full Contact server - it has always been random, but we changed it to reverse cup positions a few days ago. Now I would like to ask you guys what you think the best option is: random or reverse? :)

Random
Undoubtedly the most fair option in the long run, but from a per-race perspective luck could be a big factor especially in the final races of a cup.

Reverse cup positions
Makes for tight cups, but arguably a bit too tight: coming back after having missed the first two races is very easy with many players. Final showdowns are fair though, with the top contenders starting near each other.

Damn you. And where is "fastest lap" as an option?
For me reversed order is just ruining all sense of racing. It gives too big chances to losers for nothing. Only with some extra points for fastest lap it could be (but just could be) a little better. I hate to lose time playing first 10 races for nothing, cause it's all about last 2 races. So, reverse - big NO.
Even "last race" based order is more fair than reversed.

I believe in the old FC when MaunoKasa was hosting, the starting order was always reverse cup positions. Makes a lot more interesting cups.

Actually in my opinion any actual order is better than random.

Fastest lap!
But from those i dont know. Reverse is more fair (when fighting for cup win) so that gets my vote.

Reverse cup position. It's Full Contact and contact is what reverse order gives us.

Yesterday the reverse order incurred a result in final standings where the top 3 finishers were all separated by one point. Just saying..

I'm not going to vote though, because I really haven't even made up my mind yet.

Random is fine.

Reverse is how it should be though.

Fastest lap would just be trolling.
