SlidersTV Revival

Post by shyguy1001 » Tue Jul 02, 2013 5:35 am

Ok, I have a promise that Sam, Simms and possibly JonnO and Dore can commentate on an already made SCARTS video this sunday. That should kick it off. I was watching some old F1 videos earlier today to motivate me and... it worked!

Lets do this! F1! F1SL! Whatever other leagues you guys want! Its the perfect time for a revival, I have lots of free time over the summer and have found some great time saving tools in sony vegas and on preparing the footage from TS.. Having said that, any help would be great by those that really want to see this happen.. I'll probably only be able to do it with help :) So I need people to help in graphics, editing, pre-commentary, and perhaps a larger commentary team to choose from so we can go with a video at any time would be great too! Please, get on skype, my username is shyguy1001, im not really available any other way :) So go on! Sign up for the cause! Lets do this and get SlidersTV back up and running and producing quality youtube race broadcasts of Turbosliders races! (In full now, no more parts :) )

If you dont know what im on about: www.youtube.com/sliderstv - check it out and join up! :) Oh and subscribe ;)

Expect a SCARTS video up perhaps by Monday if all goes well with commentary to give you an appetite for quality Turbosliders racing videos.. LETS DO THIS GUYS!

Yeah, cup reviewing or something. Here is an old example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22siOibAKEE
But full review would be cool. I'm sure Shy could do it on a cool way.

Also, it would be better to have one motivation overview of full F1 season than of separated races.
I already watched most those videos. Good music makes thing 50% more enjoyable. Here is a good example.

These videos would make people want to try the game more than any others.

I was certainly considering this before I gave up SlidersTV for ages, in fact I was considering something where we would do a punaball cup with many taking part, and then the final would be livestreamed, so we would get everyone who had played in the cup and not in the final to watch on the livestream.

There's not been a punaball league as far as I know as well, it would take a lot of organising but that could be a fun challenge..

Beside, It would be great to have an approximately 30 sec of highlights per group(since they are two, with the current cup format), with synthetic commentaries about the matches.

The gran finale should have at least 2 commentators(the narrator and the observer, hopefully a person with a broad and solid knowledge about Puna), to create more enthusiasm within the spectators. Likewise, a "flash interview" after the final could be made between the commentators and the winners/runners up (teamspeak is the first thing that occurs to me, where we can have specific channels where players could join)

In the end of the cup, an extended review could be an opportunity.

I would love to see the result. Ambitious task, though.

Shyguy, if we really make this puna cup in the beginning of september, are you willing to make a "test", for the first time in the history of punaball, like you often do so brilliantly in the other mods of Turbo Sliders? I will gladly help if you need although I will be playing, I can record my games and cut the best footage, and other stuff as well.

Cheers,

Fama

Elo... took me a lot longer than expected to edit this looooooong SCARTS video! I hope its worth it in the end, if I see enough interest in this then I guess I will begin work on showing last years TSE F1 league (that could drum up interest for the next season).

Enjoy!

So, Im thinking maybe to do a poll on what to do next..

TSE F1 - looking at it, perhaps this would be too boring to show? Dede wins so often.. If you guys want it, I can do it, but I need to know people would actually watch

SCARTS - could be interesting to see tracks other than Daytona, where theres actually braking xD

F1SL - maybe??

Puna - I have a puna video in production, but if this is what you guys wanna see I can focus on only this

Please, give me your thoughts!

I think you should focus on current series. I doubt watching races held during past year is interesting for anyone. And so far SlidersTV showed only racing events, would be nice to see coverage of Puna cup now.

I thought maybe it would be more interesting (talking about TSE F1), since people would of forgotten what happens :D But maybe im wrong

tse f1 would have my vote as well.
level and amount of participants might be the highest.
although that might work for a pb cup as well.
but the coverage of a race shows every participant from begin to end.
in a pbcup with groups and ko system there is probably more focus on just the finalists. so, less people might watch it, but..not sure.

f1sl there is certainly potential for sliderstv, but tsef1 > f1sl in level and amount of participants.

scarts, good work shyguy with the daytona video (although i watched only first 18min or so). pity i dont have that much of indycar nerdness in me, else i would enjoy driving/watching 2h of that..

F**********, I just realised, the version I uploaded ends 8 minutes before the proper end of the video.. seems reupload time.. :(

And heres the reupload. I'm gonna experiment with making a new TSE F1 video tomorow. Puna video is still in production, albeit on the slow burner - some help with that would be good if anyone wants to see it finished.

EDIT: If you live in the USA, Canada or Japan use this to watch: http://www.youtubeunblocker.org/

But if you want to promote TS via SlidersTV, videos of newer events would be better
