"CREATING A DEDICATED SERVER DIRECTORY"

"Two Turbo Sliders processes should not be run at the same time
in the same directory as this could result in the ini, player and
record files being modified by two processes at the same time.
Because of this, you must first create a new Turbo Sliders directory.
The easiest way is just to copy the whole sliders directory (with
its subdirectories) or to extract the installation packet to another
location.

In addition to this, you must mark the directory to be a dedicated
server directory. This is done by creating a file 'autoserver.srv'
in the sliders directory. The file can contain anything but it must
exist. After this, you cannot any more run the game in normal mode in
this directory."

What kind of file it means? I created text document file named "autoserver.srv", but nothing happen. When I'm trying to run sliders.exe with comand line "autoserver 1", it says "this is not an auto-server directory, read 'README-autoserver.txt.'
Also, even it says:"After this, you cannot any more run the game in normal mode in this directory", I can run game normally whitout problems.
Obviously I didn't mark correct the directory to be a dedicated server directory. I mention that '...slider.exe' autoserver 1 is in new Turbo Sliders folder, what is copy of my regular TS folder, like it should be, right?. So, what's wrong?

If the game can run normally, then you didn't make the steps correctly.
My bet would be that you didn't rename the file correctly: it should be autoserver.srv, not autoserver.srv.txt (you need to display file extensions).

After doing that step correctly, you won't be able to run the game from double clicking sliders.exe in that folder. So all you need to do in that case is to make a link pointing to sliders.exe, and then enter its properties and add -autoserver 1 in the destination box:

Code:
"C:\...\Turbo Sliders\sliders.exe" -autoserver 1

Well, nope. Here is what I did. I made copy of my extracted (installed) "Turbo Sliders" folder on my desktop into the new folder called "server". Then I made new text document in it called "autoserver.srv" (like you can see). After that, I created the shorcut of slider.exe of that folder with command line "autoserver 1" (name: autoserver).
Wierd.Confused It must be something wrong with that autoserver.srv file.

That file is clearly a txt file, as you can see from the icon. You have to change your "Folder options" settings in order to display the extensions of known files. It should be in Tools menu of windows explorer (my computer, or whatever it's called) > Folder Options > and then there is a list of options in a tab called advanced or display (don't remember) > hide the extensions of know file types > uncheck it.

Hah man, it's so nice to see "Fatal error" finally. Smile You should tell me at the first time how to display that extension, not just "you need to display file extensions". I never did that before. Embarassed
Thanks. Now I can continue with this I guess.

Bingo. Smile Jurgen, you can try it too: right click on My Computer, Advenced, Performance (Settings), turn it off all (keep 2. and 3. from above). Then choose windows classic style in desktop properties.Wink It's much, much faster.
