Well we have received many feeback for the car and we put up a beta test server for the new version.
I hope is working, is the first time we put up an automated server.
In it u can test our beta 0.7 car (it's smaller, bit slower, bit less steering)

I would thank Mike for his precious help and I hope some skilled players would join to help us improve it.

PS: just a little comment for some TS users: Our small team is working upon new cars and images with passion, we are not payd and you (probably) didn't pay to play TS and our cars, so please, try to be polite when you comment other people work, we are not obliged to change the car the way you want, we appreciate suggestion as much as we do not appreciate unpolite orders. ;)

Kart-pro

PostTue Apr 03, 2012 11:52 am

After a lot of testing I think I managed to make the best TS kart ever. I called it simply: Kart-x. It's rendered from professionally made 3D kart model.

Oh, f***!!! I didn't know there is already such name. Does size of latter matter at least? "Pro" and "pro" - it's the same? O.K., renamed to Kart-x.

i also wanted to make a car by rendering a 3D model... but i don't know how to do it... what program did you use? i tried with 3dmax and blender but i dont have much time to learn how to use them. is there any "easy" way of rendering a rot image?? :?:

I already tried that, with not big success. I can render perfectly looking car whenever I want, but they not look always that good on the track. So, it's important to make many modifications and light settings before you get something acceptable. The main problem for all TS cars is that they're designed by only 64 images. So, car will look good only if its dimensions are close to 1:1 (wideness:length). As you know, all normal cars are 1:2(or more) and that's why I always have to scratch them to get desired dimensions. I had few tries for now, but when I tested it, I wasn't satisfied enough to publish it. But, be sure that I 'll try to get something before new F1 league start. Btw, I'm glad you like this one.

Pls, just avoid Blender. I had many headaches while trying to make something with it. It just has horrible rendering (it's slow and frustrating). Now I use 3ds max (I contacted TS designer Shaun Tsai and he said that he used 3ds max to create default cars too). Well, for sure, you 'll have to lose a lot of time before you understand all possibilities of that software. But, from this position I could say that it's not that hard to learn some basics that you need for TS. Tijny is already good at it too. He made some cool racing cars, but he didn't publish it for some reason.

Tnx Ana, your word is the most important to me here.

Btw, did you all ever tried my older car Hallyava? I think it's good too.

I just put up a server with those cars, I wanted to install some scripts there first. One of them actually drives almost exactly the same as your kart. So yeah, wippe rendered a nice image but the car's handling is actually my work. :P

Oh, yep, I forgot to say that. I thought you stole it from somebody too. Well, whenever I publish some car, it's mostly because I finished its design. I didn't care about it's handling that much, cause people can change it whenever they feel the need.

Yep, there are many bases od free 3ds max (.max) models. Just google like: "free 3ds max models". I only change their colours and dimensions. Also, I often edit many details of the model and spend a lot of time while preparing the best lightening for it before I render it.
I always get many versions of the same model and pick the best of them. The best looking model isn't always the most suitable for TS and that's the main problem. Default cars are really simple, but they are still better than any other professionally made model.
